What Is AFCAT:
AFCAT stands for Air Force Common Admission Test is a written exam conducted by Indian Air Force twice every year to induct officers in the IAF.

Eligibility criteria for AFCAT:

AFCAT Educational Qualifications Eligibility Criteria 2023:
AFCAT Flying Branch Educational Qualifications Eligibility Criteria (Men & Women):
- Graduates (Min 3 three year degree course) in any discipline from a recognized University
- Minimum 60% marks in 10+2 Maths and Physics.
- Minimum 60% marks in graduation.
AFCAT Technical Branch Educational Qualifications Eligibility Criteria (Men & Women):
- Candidates would be eligible if they have undergone a minimum of four year degree qualification from a recognized University or cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies.
- Minimum 60% marks in 10+2 Maths and Physics.
- Minimum 60% marks in graduation.
AFCAT Ground Duty Branch Educational Qualifications Eligibility Criteria (Men & Women):
- Administration & Logistics Branch: Graduate Degree (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate of all papers put together.
- Accounts Branch: B. Com. degree (Minimum three year degree course) from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
- Education Branch: Post Graduate Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together.
AFCAT Physical Fitness Standards Eligibility Criteria 2023:
AFCAT Flying Branch Physical Standards Eligibility Criteria (Men & Women):
Height and Weight:
- Minimum height : 162.5 cms with correlated weight, Leg Length : Min – 99 cms.
Max – 120 cms. Thigh Length : Max – 64 cms. Sitting Height : Min – 81.5 cms. Max – 96 cms.
Vision:
- Minimum Visual Acuity 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other, correctable to 6/6 only for hypermetropia.
- Manifest Myopia – Nil.
- LASIK Surgery for correction of vision is admissible in Transport and Helicopter streams of Short Service Commission (Flying Branch) in special cases.
All other medical criteria would be evaluated by the Air Force Medical Authorities whose decision on
the fitness would be final

- Minimum height:- Men -157.5 Cms, Women:-152 Cms with correlated weight .
- All other medical criteria would be evaluated by the Air Force Medical Authorities whose decision on the fitness would be final.

AFCAT 2023 Exam Pattern:
One common test of 100 questions, to be solved by all candidates in 2 hours. Technical Branch candidates have an additional test of EKT, both tests are objective. Successful candidates get a chance to appear for AFSB, and recommended candidates can be called for training based on their rank in the merit list and subject to medical fitness.
Note: Candidates appearing in final year/semester examinations may apply but you should not have any present backlog and should have secured a minimum of 60% marks up to the last semester and also Candidates should be able to provide original degree certificate issued by University.
AFCAT Cut Off Marks:
The Cut off marks for AFCAT is staying around 126/ 300 for AFCAT and 55/ 150 for EKT. We expect AFCAT 2023 will be nearby the previous one.

Is there any reservation for ST/SC in AFCAT exam?
No there is no reservation in Indian Air Force. The selection of candidates is entirely on the process and performance of the candidates keeping reservation system of India aside.
