Air Force Common Admission Test is a written exam conducted by Indian Air Force twice every year (AFCAT 1 and AFCAT 2) to induct officers in the IAF.

AFCAT Syllabus 2023

AFCAT Exam pattern 2023

The AFCAT Question Paper will have 100 questions. Each question will carry 3 marks for correct answer and 1 mark negative for wrong answer.

Total time allotted for AFCAT : 120 Mins ( 2 Hours)

Negative Marking in AFCAT : Yes ( 1 mark for each wrong answer)

Mode of Paper : Multiple Choice Question (MCQ)

AFCAT exam is multiple choice questions based. Total number of questions are 100, making it of total 300 marks paper. Each incorrect answer will mark down by 1 in score card.

AFCAT exam paper has four sections

1. AFCAT syllabus – General Awareness
2. AFCAT syllabus – Verbal ability in English
3. AFCAT syllabus – Numerical Ability
4. AFCAT syllabus – Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test section

AFCAT EKT Exam pattern and Syllabus 2023

• EKT Exam is being conducted just after the AFCAT.
• EKT duration will of 45 mins where AFCAT is of 2 Hrs exam
• EKT is applicable only for those candidates, who has applied for a technical branch.
• All applicants whose online applications have been successfully submitted will be called for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) and Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT).
• (applicable only for candidates applying for technical branch).

All the candidates who are eligible for AFCAT exam and submitted the application form successfully will be called for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) and Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) which is being conducted twice in a year.

Candidates who clear the written exams (AFCAT and EKT) successfully and get short listed for next round (SSB) will be called at Air Force Selection Boards (AFSCs) at Dehradun, Mysore, Gandhinagar or Varanasi for further testing.
